Alex Giles - Guitar, Bass

A lifelong student of guitar, Alex's passion for music was ignited in college, and in 2018 he released an instrumental metal fusion album.  After playing in jazz and rock bands, then graduating, Alex decided to spread his love for music through teaching.

His teaching methods focus on integrating musical literacy, classical techniques, and the improvisation and feel of popular music. A significant element of lessons is directed by student choice, both of pieces and styles to learn.

One of his main goals in teaching is to ignite the passion to create music within his students, while giving them the framework and tools to understand how to do so.

Alex currently plays in 2 local bands, the indie rock band Tidal Daze and the heavy metal duo Lamprea.
