Make up lessons policies

While our studio policies say “no makeup lessons,”  we strive to always have generosity of heart and kindness of spirit. We want to have a great relationship with all of our families while respecting our teachers’ schedules and their valuable time.

Your teacher may offer any or all of these options if you cannot attend your regularly scheduled time-slot.

1. We can do a virtual lesson at your regular appointment or on another day and time that works for both of you.

2. If your student is the first lesson of the day, your teacher may ask them to come in 15 minutes early for the next two weeks. If they are the last lesson of the day, your teacher may offer for you to stay an extra 15 minutes for the next two weeks.

3. Your teacher may start a group text between you and the students before and after your lesson. Your teacher may ask the students before or after your lesson time if they can stay for an hour. Then the next week, your child stays for an hour. Doing the group text lets everybody see the opportunity and reply in real time. It is the fastest and most efficient way to communicate with several people without too much back-and-forth. And it also is a great reference for future confirmation. You will exchange cell and emails with your teacher.

4. Another effective method is a swap swap chart. It is optional for parents. The teacher will post their schedule on the wall in their room that has the students name, parents name, email, cell and lesson day and time. Parents who choose to participate in this program can take a picture of that schedule. When a parent knows they are going to miss, they can contact another parent on the schedule and ask to switch lesson appointments for that week. Then, send your teacher a text and just let them know about the switch.

5. Until your teacher’s schedule fills up, they can offer you an empty slot in their schedule.

6. The teacher can record themselves giving tutorials specifically designed for your student. The teacher will upload it to YouTube and send you the link. Your student can watch the video multiple times at their own leisure.
