Naarah Strokosch, Cello & Piano
Having come from a musical family in Chicago, Naarah has been submersed in music her whole life, playing piano since she was old enough to sit up on the bench. Formal classical training on piano began at age 6, and cello followed at age 8. It was joining and earning principal cellist of her first orchestra in middle school that made it clear, music would become her life-long path.
Throughout her secondary education, Naarah performed with several school and youth orchestras, choirs, pit orchestras and chamber ensembles. It was here she began performing as a soloist, and had the honor of performing in the Sydney Opera House with the Windy City String Ensemble.
Naarah attended Lawrence University’s Conservatory of Music, where she studied cello performance under Professor Janet Anthony. Branching out to alternate styles of music, she began working as a session cellist and pianist, and as a performer with several modern bands.
After moving to Orlando, Florida, Naarah began offering private cello and piano lessons to students of all ages and interests, where she found yet another passion in teaching. Since completing schooling in the Recording Arts at Full Sail University, Naarah continues to share her love of music by teaching, recording, and performing with local artists.
While Naarah has strong roots in classical music, and strives to pass along her knowledge of the ever-so-important fundamentals and techniques found in classical training, she believes the love of music is the most important thing to inspire, and that can be found in different styles of music for different students. Her goal as a teacher is to provide students with knowledge and skills in whatever way is most positive and enjoyable for them.
